Songweavers Studio is holding a workshop on Ambient Hip Hop for youth!

Tuesday January 10, 2012
4-8 PM
FREE!

-Learn to record ambient sound/noise and make your own unique instrumental hip hop tracks!
-We will meet at Songweavers Studio #224-111 West Hastings St, Vancouver BC (W2 Media Cafe)
-Workshop will take place indoors and outdoors as we record sounds around Vancouver
-Just show up if you are interested, no need to register!

Hypnotist Scott Ward will be our entertainment at KAYA’s Christmas Kickoff! From scottward.ca:

Scott’s hypnotic eyes amaze and mezmerize his subjects on stage as they become the stars of the show. A former professional academic teacher and career counselor, Scott had amazing fun hypnotizing his students so he decided to take his show on the road full time and loves to entertain with stage hypnotism!

Scott Ward follows his First Nation teachings that he received in his formative years from his grandmother and elders and shares it with the world through his hypnosis shows and seminars.

After first performing for his co-workers at a staff wellness conference, Scott found his calling amazing audiences everywhere with his wildly entertaining comedy hypnosis! Join Scott Ward in a fun-filled hypnotic stage show that keeps you wanting more!

KAYA’s Information Session Board Membership Opportunity

The Knowledgeable Aboriginal Youth Association (KAYA) would like to invite all Aboriginal Youth/KAYA memberships to join the new KAYA Board Of Directors (BOD).

We will be having an information session on:
October 20th, 2011
from 6pm – 8pm
We will be providing a dinner for the attendee’s
Location to be announced soon.

At this info session we will be covering:
What is governance?
The background of KAYA
The benefits & expectations to being on a BOD to a non-profit organization, & more.

Requirement to attend the session & sign up to be a BOD is to send us your resume, 1 paragraph on “Why you want to be involved & what you can offer to the board”. Deadline for signing up is October 19th at 4pm to gain access to this session.

KAYA operates on an experiential youth to youth peer driven model. KAYA consults, facilitates community initiatives that directly/indirectly involve youth.
